Performer : Velma Von BonBon

August 16th, 2010

The first of our performers to be profiled is a rising star and local girl made good, or perhaps “local bad girl made good ”
First staggering bambi-legged and doe eyed onto the burlesque circuit in late 2009, it was immediately obvious Velma Von Bon Bon was destined for the top. Velma’s comedic style is a cheeky bottom flash at the stoics of society and her inventive antics have lit up stages across the northwest. She was awarded winner of the prestigious Tournament of Tease July heat, cementing her growing reputation while  proving what we’ve known for a while: that Velma brings something new and exciting to the burlesque world.

No wonder then that she has been shaking her booty in exotic locations as diverse as Leeds and Huddersfield!

If this pint sized pocket rocket can’t put I’ll smile on your face she’ll eat your hat!
When not burlesquing, Velma can be found fiddling on her purple fiddle with hottest all girl jazz band in town, the “Flamin’ Mamies”.

Win a Davida Motorcycle helmet at Dr Sketchy Liverpool

August 3rd, 2010

Davida Jet Helmet (thunderbolt design)You can win  this amazing vintage style motorcycle helmet, handmade in England by Davida.

Yes, you might remember at the last Dr Sketchy a lucky lady won one of these, so if you missed out – you get another try.

The helmet pictured is the Jet Thunderbolt and it’s worth about £180 if you bought it … and we will be bringing it along for a lucky audience member to win.  In fact, as the helmets are meant to fit your actual head the winner will have to measure theirs and then get another one that fits just right.  But hey, this is the one we have to show on the night!

It will be the grand prize in our raffle, which will also feature prizes from our other sponsors   (I’ll tell you about those in a short while).

Davida do a range of great big motorcycle and scooter gear (from shades, goggles and clothes to vacuum guages), but why not take a look at all the other styles of Davida Jet Motorcycle helmets, just for kicks!

Performing : Bella Besame !

April 20th, 2010

Sketchy people, we are now closing in on our very first event and here’s the last but not the least of our performers. The sassy Bella Besame

Bella Besame packs her  high energy  raunchy routines with stylish sass and she has a great ass.  Bella has been a lynchpin of the northwest burlesque scene for many years and is both a promoter, performer and teacher of burlesque.

When she isn’t travelling the country teaching ladies the art of the tease, running her fabulously successful Slippery Belle nights or dazzling audiences with her tassel twirling she can be found sipping chamagne and scoffing cheesecake!

Our performer – Miss Scarlett Daggers

April 13th, 2010

Two weeks to go ladies and gentlemen, only two weeks to the first ever Dr Sketchy.

We here at Kinky Darling thought you would like to know a little more about our second performer the tattooed dream of the rockabilly scene Miss Scarlett Daggers.

A performer since 2005 and Co-Producer of Dr Sketchy Nottingham since 2009 Scarlett’s gentle ladylike elegance is matched with her red hot naughtiness and sizzling  charms.

Her stunning costumes encapsulate one of the tiniest waists in UK’s burlesque scene and with her boundless energy she whirls across the country in a flurry of glitter and broken hearts.

(Please note that kinky Darling can not be held responsible for any hearts broken patrons, our responsible for their own hearts.)

Introducing Our Performers : Ditzy Diamond!

April 7th, 2010

Hey there!

All our planning for the very first Dr Sketchy is sliding into place as smoothly as a Freudian allusion to sex. Tickets are flying out of the door, we have had a great surge of interest in the event and we have lots of information to share with you before the day.

So, to whet your whistle … here’s the first of our profiles of the performers you will be enjoying,  ladies, gentlemen, Sketchy People – I present …

Miss Ditzy Diamond

Ditzy is a quirky, curvy and some say insane burlesquer who has made the move from the shores of Australia to the UK stage. As an actress from a young age, Birmingham-based Ditzy is able to  blend traditional cheesecake with off-the-wall comedy.

She’s one of the fastest rising stars of the burlesque world and we are very lucky to have her!

You can find out a lot more about Ditzy on her website, that’s www.ditzydiamond.com , which is full of photos, videos and all that bloggy goodness that you need.

Or you could simply wait until you meet her in person, on the 25th of April at the Kazimier. :)
